- காட்சி யொழுக்கொடு ஞானந் தலைநின்று
மாட்சி மனைவாழ்த லன்றியு--மீட்சியில்
வீட்டுலக மெய்தல் எனவிரண்டே நல்லறங்
கேட்டதனா லாய பயன்.
(பதவுரை) நல்லறம்-சிறந்த அறநூல்களை, கேட்டதனால்- கேட்பதனால், ஆய-உண்டாகும், பயன்-பயன்களாவன, காட்சி ஒழுக்கொடு-அறிவு ஒழுக்கங்களோடு, மாட்சி- பெருமை பொருந்திய, மனை வாழ்தலும்-இல்லறத்தில் வாழ்தலும், அன்றி- அதுவேயன்றி, ஞானந் தலைநின்று- ஞானத்தால் சிறந்து, மீட்சியில்-மீளுதலில்லாத, வீட்டுலகம் எய்தலும்-வீடுபேற்றினையடைதலும், என இரண்டே-ஆகிய இரண்டே ஆகும்.(குறிப்பு) மனை வாழ்க்கையும் வீடுபேறுமாகிய இரண்டுமே அறங்கேட்டதனாலாய பயனாம். மேற்கண்ட பத்துப்பாக்களும் இந்நூற்குப் பொதுவாகிய இன்றியமையா நான்கினையும் விளக்குகின்றமையாற் பாயிரமாயின. — attaining the state of moksha (freedom), where one is not reborn, a state beyond worldly cycles.
The verse asserts that both these goals—ideal worldly life and ultimate spiritual freedom—are fruits of hearing and practicing dharma.

ज्ञान को सर्वोपरि रखकर,
गौरव के साथ गृहस्थ जीवन जीना,
और उससे परे, मोक्ष (पुनर्जन्महीन मुक्ति) को प्राप्त करना —
बस यही दो ही श्रेष्ठ फल हैं
जो धर्म उपदेश को सुनने से प्राप्त होते हैं।
धर्मशास्त्रों को केवल सुनना ही नहीं, उनका अनुसरण करना दो जीवनमूल्यवान दिशाएँ देता है:
एक उच्च और आदर्श पारिवारिक जीवन।
जन्म-मरण के चक्र से मुक्ति, यानी मोक्ष।

To walk the path of home and hearth,
And fill each day with noble worth.
Not just to live, but live with grace,
With honor shining on the face—
A householder with heart refined,
By dharma's light, with soul aligned.
Yet greater still, the soul may rise,
Beyond the earth, beyond the skies—
Where rebirth’s wheel no longer spins,
And silent peace at last begins.
These are the gifts that dharma gives,
To one who hears and rightly lives:
A life well-lived in righteous flame,
And freedom from the birth-death game.
